If you didn’t own the game already now’s your chance to fix that as it’s currently 75% off on Steam, with A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA also 66% off. The game will become A Total War Saga: FALL OF THE SAMURAI on Steam with a shiny new logo to match, and existing owners of the game will receive all DLC (excluding the blood pack) as a free gift.

However it is still a valuable province due to its fertile soil.Īlong with Musashi, Yamashiro is one of only two provinces to begin the campaign with a citadel, giving it very high repression and making it a good target for annexation. We’re pleased to announce that Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Fall of the Samurai is joining the Total War Saga family! It is less valuable than its predecessor as it now has a railway specialty, which provides little immediate wealth.

Kyoto is renamed Yamashiro in Fall of the Samurai. Kyoto borders Omi to the east, Iga to the southeast, Yamato to the south, Kawachi to the southwest, Settsu to the west, and Tamba to the north. The Ashikaga Clan initially holds Kyoto and is the clan in control of the shogunate, but it is weak and never ventures out the borders of Kyoto's province. The region of Kyoto itself is fairly useful, with fertile soil and a school. If Realm Divide hasn't been triggered yet, becoming shogun automatically triggers it. Upon achieving this, the player is granted one unit of Great Guard (with the ability to train additional regiments) and the Nihon Maru warship. Capturing Kyoto and holding it for a year (four turns) is required to be recognized as the shogun. In Total War: Shogun 2, Kyoto is the seat of the shogunate and the objective for every clan to achieve victory in campaign.
