Oteng, 28, is a marketing and PR manager, but has known Soko since they were eleven and, as such, is managing his accounts as a friend, completely free of charge. “Two days ago he got 30,000 followers in 24 hours, which was just insane,” Zerrin Oteng, the person managing Soko’s Instagram and Twitter accounts while he’s in the villa, tells me. When he first entered the villa, he had around 7,000 followers on Instagram. Two weeks ago, 28-year-old basketball player Ovie Soko became one of 12 new Love Island contestants who were brought in for the Casa Amor challenge, during which the original contestants are tempted to cheat on their existing partners with the new “bombshells”. While some Love Island contestants might genuinely enter the show to find love or just have a nice jolly over the summer, if they haven’t taken a moment to consider its fame-boosting side effects and cash in, they’re one dumbbell-pumped pec short of a naughty gym sesh. This kind of success isn’t just reserved for winners of the show: 2016 runners-up Olivia and Alex Bowen (the first Love Island couple to get married after the show) reportedly have a combined net worth of £4.4m, while multiple other runners-up from various series have all reached millionaire status since exiting the villa.

It’s estimated that Dani is now worth £1.7 million. This doesn’t even include the brand deals that she received while still in a relationship with her co-winner, Jack Fincham. Since appearing on Love Island last year, one half of the now split-up winning couple, Dani Dyer, has scooped a “six-figure” hair campaign with Mark Hill, a £750,000 collaboration with fashion brand In The Style, published an autobiography, appeared in Nativity: The Musical for £25,000 and has reportedly charged upwards of £15,000 for a sponsored Instagram post.
